At the end of each six-week training course, participants design and complete service projects that embrace our values of Generosity, Unity, Resilience, and Leadership, as well contribute to the development and expansion of girlx athletics in the Bay Area. All service projects are open source -- available for any individual to use to support and expand girlx sports.
Below are resources and links to service projects created by GURLS participants. We hope you will use them in empowering and supporting girlx.
GURLS Year 3 Gender Equity Workshop
While the workshop is primarily focused on helping leaders (coaches & captains) on mixed high school teams, we firmly believe that the information shared in this workshop will benefit individuals working with girls & womxn across all divisions (Adult Mixed Club, Middle School, Recreational League and roles (coaches, captains, parents, players, team admins).
The workshop weaves together powerful stories, discussion, activities, worksheets, and group scenarios so that participants walk away with immediate and long-term tangible items to implement on their teams or in their community.
The workshop was designed and facilitated by our 2019 Year 3 GURLS participants, all seniors in high school.
Year One participants, as part of their service projects, have created guides on gender equity, pipeline generation, and overcoming challenges of playing mixed ultimate. Take a look at these guides below via Medium.
